Classes

Yes, we do provide a waitlist once classes fill up. If a spot opens up you will have 24 hours to confirm your spot before it will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
Unfortunately all class sales are final. In the event that a student is not able to attend a class, we do not offer refunds, make up classes or drop in access in lieu of attending class. Please make sure that you are able to attend all classes in a course before registering. We do not allow guests or visitors to attend our classes with registered participants.
All of our classes are taught at a beginner level starting with the very basics of wheel throwing. If you have some previous experience in clay please let us know and feel free to request more advanced demos from your instructor. You are welcome to use your class time to advance your skills from novice to intermediate and our instructors are here to guide you in technique.
Course fees include the cost of clay and glaze. When in the studio you will have access to our wheels and hand tools for use in your course. Your work will be included in our bisque and glaze kiln firings, and you will be able to keep any finished work that you produce during the course.
All classes and workshops take place at our East Vancouver studio at 1803 East 1st Ave, Vancouver, BC V5N 1B2 near Commercial Drive. The entrance to the studio is in the back alley of the blue Grandview Church building. There is street parking all along Salsbury Drive and you'll find a bike rack in the front of the building. We host in an intimate setting of 6 to 8 people per class. This class size supports individual training, and we find that students who learn with us advance quickly and smoothly.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, we will have aprons, hand sanitizer, surface disinfectant and masks for you to make use of as needed. Please note that our studio is small and we are operating at a limited capacity to support physical distancing. Wheels are now spaced out and we keep both doors open for airflow. We find that the pottery community has adapted well to the protocol and are happy with the care and consideration that serves our well-being, health and safety.
We currently offer drop-in studio times every Friday 6-9pm for $30 per person. There is a 6 person maximum on a first-come basis. Cash only for payment. Fee covers a base amount of clay. No personal glazes or clay allowed to be brought in. Starting May 4 there will also be a Saturday drop-in time slot from 10am - 1pm.
